Join us for our exclusive 4-week improv course tailored for BIPOC communities! This course is an empowering journey where you'll explore the art of improv in a nonjudgmental and supportive environment. Led by faculty who understand your unique perspectives and experiences, this course offers a creative space to explore your imagination, amplify your voice, and build connections with fellow participants.

Discover the joy of storytelling, embrace your authenticity, and celebrate the diversity of voices within our community. Whether you're a seasoned performer or new to improv, this course is your opportunity to shine and express yourself freely. Whether you are funny or not that funny or an extrovert or introvert, you will find your place in this course.

You probably know the following individuals from so many other successful shows, stand-up comedy specials, and projects.  However, they are also very accomplished improvisers which sometimes gets lost among their many accomplishments.

  • Keegan-Michael Key performed at The Second City in Detroit.
  •  Jordan Peele was a performer at The Second City in Chicago.
  • Utkarsh Ambudkar founded  the hip-hop improv comedy troupe Freestyle Love Supreme
  • Sasheer Zamata co-founded Doppelganger and has performed improv with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and many other comedy troupes.
  • Donald Glover is a skilled improviser who got his start in comedy with the Derrick Comedy troupe and worked with Upright Citizens Brigade. His improv was so incredible, Community show creator Dan Harmon has commented that Glover’s improvisation skills were so on-point that the writers would eventually just write the space for him to do so in their scripts.
  • And this is just a small list. You may have others.

Wayne Brady, well known improviser performing on Whose Line Is It Anyway, and so many other things, talks briefly about improv and life.

Sasheer Zamata talking about her experience with improv.

Keegan-Michael Key provides a great explanation of improv.
